Painter, musician and essay writer, either as part of a group or alone, Olivier Pé takes part in multiple artistic experiments mixing different disciplines (dance, music, writing, video and cinema). But painting is his main activity and where all other possible forms of expression meet. The piece chosen for the SPACE Collection is a painting with a puzzling subject but which has the virtue of offering a wide range of horizons beyond the stunning plastic qualities of the painting. The meticulous and dreamlike world depicted by Olivier Pé is constantly renewed through experience. This woodland scene with its architectonic shapes and its environment that mixes physical and imaginary worlds, leads to multiple approaches. Consequently, he explores the plant world, like in the series Jardin des Jours (2010-2011), created for the central nave of Saint-Pholien church in Liege. It evokes “Paradise and fertility, but also the poetic experience and the loving body…” The latter was already a central theme of the drawing in the collection from the series compiled in the book entitled À corps perdu.
